Safety meets style with our new LED taillight trays for all R129 Mercedes SL roadsters. These fit every model of R129 from 1990-2002.

Install type:

DIY: LED trays that fit inside the factory taillights and splice into the factory taillight connector. Installing the trays requires modifying the factory lenses with a Dremel, or similar cutting tool, to remove plastic. Detailed instructions are included. There are no modifications to the vehicle itself.

Red turn signals are easiest to install on ALL versions.

Red turn signals will still appear RED under an orange lens.

Orange turn signals will still appear ORANGE under a red lens.

Item Description:

These are not simply LED running lights that retain the factory halogen bulbs for brakes, turns, etc. This is a complete LED conversion of all taillight functions including the running lights, brake lights, turn signals, reverse lights, and rear fog lights.  

These LEDs outperform the factory taillights in every way and make your beloved R129 more visible to distracted drivers. The factory halogen bulbs simply don’t cut it in today’s world. These were designed to be an upgrade in aesthetics and safety.

If you simply replace the factory taillight bulbs with LEDs you will get a dash warning light and hyper-flashing turn signals. We have cleverly designed circuits that avoid these issues and maintain seamless factory functionality. All lights behave exactly as they should.

Every tray is also equipped with a rear fog light and can be wired for LHD, RHD, or both sides to comply with any local laws, in any country. 

The LED trays are available for both Pre-Facelift (4 bar) and Facelift (3 bar) lenses. Either version can be installed on any R129, but the trays are specific to each version so please select according to the version of lens you plan on using.
